Santa Clara County Weed Abatement Program

The Santa Clara County Weed Abatement Program is under the Department of Agriculture. Click on Weed Abatement Program in the list at the left and then on the items under that (e.g., Report a Hazard). Their phone number is (408) 282-3145. For freeway entrances and other Caltrans properties, you can use the Caltrans Maintenance Service Request.

California Fire Alliance

The Alliance is a cooperative membership dedicated to the support of pre-fire principles and activities ensuring that pre-fire management provides for public and community safety, minimizes costs and loses, and maintains and improves the quality of the environment.

Information is supplied and approved by the National Wildfire Coordinating Group, a consortium of wildland fire agencies that includes the USDA-Forest Service, the Department of Interior, the National Association of State Foresters, the U.S. Fire Administration and the National Fire Protection Association.

GeoMAC Wildland Fire Support

Click on Wildfire Mapping to locate current (and past) wildland fires near you.  "The Geospatial Multi-Agency Coordination Group or GeoMAC, is an internet-based mapping tool originally designed for fire managers to access online maps of current fire locations and perimeters in the conterminous 48 States and Alaska. Using a standard web browser, fire personnel can download this information to pinpoint the affected areas. With the growing concern of western wildland fires in the summer of 2000, this application also became available to the public."
