CDF Battalion Chief Dave Athey: On
Monday afternoon, June 19th at
3:29 PM, San Jose City Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire
on the east side of McKean Road in the Cinnabar Hills area of the Almaden
Valley. Aircraft, personnel and equipment from the California Department
of Forestry (CDF) assisted and the fire was controlled at 6 acres.
Taken from the CDF Air Tactical plane which is directing the Air Tankers
as they drop fire
retardant on the fire.
